The Bring a Friend Flow on the fitDEGREE App

Bring a Friend is the entry point in the fitDEGREE App for everything you might want to do for a friend — register them for a Class directly, send them a Guest Pass, purchase them an item, or send them a Gift Card. This article walks through every branch of the flow so you know what's available.

Where to find it

Bring a Friend appears on every registrable detail screen in the fitDEGREE App:

• Before you register, the buttons below the Class banner are Register and Bring a Friend.

• After you register, the buttons change to Withdraw, Bring a Friend, and Add to Calendar.

Tap Bring a Friend to open the friend picker.

Choosing a friend

The friend picker shows two options:

• Your app friends — Clients you're connected with on the fitDEGREE App.

• Bring Someone Else — for friends who don't have a fitDEGREE App account or aren't on your friends list.

Options when you pick a friend

Selecting a friend who has a fitDEGREE App account opens a screen with up to three options. Which ones appear depends on whether your friend meets all of the Class's registration requirements:

Register them directly

Only available if your friend has no outstanding registration requirements — they need to have all waivers signed, no tag restrictions on the Class, no past-due bills, and all required profile fields completed. When this is available:

1. Tap Register them directly.

2. Choose how to pay for the registration: with a Guest Pass (if you have one available) or by purchasing them an item.

3. Complete the registration.

Your friend gets a push notification: "A friend registered you: [Friend’s name] registered you for [Class] on [date] at [time]"

If your friend doesn't meet all the requirements, the screen explains: "[Friend] has additional registration requirements to complete and can't be registered by someone else right now, but you can still send them a Guest Pass or purchase them an item."

Send them a Guest Pass

Available if you hold a pack, Intro Offer, or Membership with an active Guest Perk that applies to this Class. Tapping this opens the Send Guest Pass flow — your friend receives a push notification and claims the pass on their end. A use is only deducted from your Guest Perk when they claim it.

Purchase them an item

Available any time. Lets you buy your friend a Class Pack, One-on-One Pack, or single drop-in. The item lands directly on your friend's account and they receive a push notification asking if they want to use it to register for the Class that started the flow.

Options for Bring Someone Else

If you choose Bring Someone Else (for a friend without a fitDEGREE App account), you'll see two options:

Send a Guest Pass

Available if you hold a Pack, Intro Offer, or Membership with an active Guest Perk that applies to this Class.

1. Tap Send a Guest Pass.

2. Use the share button to send the Guest Pass link via text, email, or another app on your device.

Your friend opens the link, creates a fitDEGREE App account at the studio if they don't already have one, and claims the Guest Pass. A use is only deducted from your Guest Perk when they claim it.

Send Gift Card via email

Generates a digital Gift Card you can customize with a message and send to your friend by email. They can use the Gift Card to register and pay for the Class. This works for any recipient — they don't need a fitDEGREE App account to receive a Gift Card.

Things to know

• Memberships cannot be gifted because they involve recurring billing. The recommended approach for gifting Membership value is a digital Gift Card the recipient can apply toward a Membership bill on their own.

• Account Balance can be sent between app friends if your studio has Allow purchasing account balance for others enabled. This appears under your friend's actions in the friend picker.

• If you don't have any Guest Perks on your account, the Send Guest Pass options won't appear — but you can still purchase items for friends or send Gift Cards.
