Membership Freeze Perk Regeneration

Modified on Mon, 30 Mar at 1:23 PM

Perks regenerate following the end of a membership freeze in one of two ways depending on your company’s currently selected “freeze perk strategy” (we give you two options here to best meet the needs of your specific business).

You can change between these two strategies at any time by going to the admin menu, then “Company”, then “Settings”, then “Freeze settings”, then choosing your desired strategy.

Strategy 1 (this is the default method)

The benefit with this strategy is that the perk renewal day of week/month stays consistent even after the freeze (e.g. if the perk always renewed on a Monday, it will continue to do so after the freeze).

To accomplish this, the client is given a “prorated perk” after the freeze that bridges the gap to the next day of renewal (e.g. if the perk renews every Monday and the membership is unfrozen on a Friday, the first perk will be from Friday to Sunday, and then the next “full” perk will start on Monday as you would expect).

The number of uses in this “prorated perk” is prorated based on the length of the perk (e.g. if the “prorated perk” is half its normal length, the perk will have half of its uses).

Strategy 2

The benefit with this strategy is that the active perk when the membership was frozen is restored when the freeze ends (e.g. if the perk had 3/8 uses remaining when the membership was frozen, it is brought back with that same number of remaining uses).

To accomplish this, the day of week/month that the perk regenerates sometimes has to be changed after the freeze ends (e.g. a perk might have renewed on Mondays prior to the freeze, but after the freeze it renews on Wednesdays). This is necessary to ensure that the restored perk is not longer/shorter than it is supposed to be (e.g. if the perk was frozen with 6 days remaining, it should have 6 days remaining when it's restored).
