What Clients See: Membership Purchase Terms in the App

Modified on Wed, 27 May at 7:58 AM

When a Client purchases a Membership in the fitDEGREE App, they're presented with a confirmation screen that lays out the key terms of the Membership before they check out. This helps make sure Clients understand commitments like minimum length and cancellation notice before they commit.

The Client purchase flow

  1. The Client visits the Store in the fitDEGREE App.

  2. They scroll to Memberships and select a pricing option.

  3. The purchase screen displays:

  • Details — required minimum length and cancellation notice if you've set them.

  • Pricing — for example, $100/month.

  • Description — the customized text you've written for the Membership.

  • Included Perks — the Class Perks, One-on-One Perks, and any Guest Perks included on the Membership, along with their expiration and number of uses.

Before checking out, the Client must agree to the terms by checking a box labeled I agree to the above terms of this membership. They can only proceed to checkout after agreeing.

Why this matters

Presenting terms up front ensures Clients are fully informed of their cancellation obligations and what's included in the Membership prior to purchase. It reduces confusion later if a Client wants to cancel before the minimum length is up, since they've explicitly agreed to the policy.

Things to know

  • Details, pricing, and description are pulled directly from the Membership setup in Setup > Payment Options > Memberships. Update those fields any time to change what Clients see.

  • If you change the Perks included on a Membership template after Clients have already purchased it, the change takes effect immediately for all current Members. If you want to leave existing Members unchanged and only sell the new structure going forward, create a new Membership template instead.

  • Memberships cannot be gifted from the fitDEGREE App because they involve recurring billing. Recommend a digital Gift Card the recipient can apply toward their own Membership bill.
