Referral Reporting and What it Means

Modified on Thu, 20 Feb at 1:27 PM

Tracking referrals in your Business Reports is an exciting way to see how word-of-mouth helps grow your fitSpot! But what do all the terms actually mean? Let’s break it down.

Referral Terminology:

  • Referral – When someone recommends a fitSpot to a new client, and that person creates a profile and explores membership options.
  • Referrer – The person who shares their referral code or referral link with a friend.
  • Prospect – A person who creates a profile using a referral code or link.
  • Converted – A prospect who registers or makes a purchase, officially becoming a client at the fitSpot!

How to Access Referral Reporting

To view referral activity:

  1. Go to your Admin Menu
  2. Select Reports
  3. Navigate to Business Reports
  4. Click on Referrers

How Referral Tracking Works

  • When a client shares their referral link from the app, the system attaches their referral code to the session.
  • If the recipient does not have an account and creates one during that same session (within the same browser or app session), the referring client automatically gets credit for the referral.

Allowing Clients to Share Referral Codes Freely

Admins can choose to display referral codes on the home page, allowing clients to manually share their codes with friends. Friends can then input the code when creating an account to ensure the referrer gets credit.

To enable this feature:

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Select App Settings
  3. Navigate to Display Settings
  4. Enable Referral Code Display

This setting encourages organic growth by making it easier for clients to share and promote your fitSpot!
