Adding Tag-Based Restrictions to Classes

Modified on Wed, 29 Oct at 9:44 AM

Tag-Based Restrictions allow you to control which clients can register for specific classes based on their assigned tags. This feature can be added directly within your Class Templates, making it easy to manage access across recurring classes or groups.

Where to Add Tag-Based Restrictions

Tag-Based Restrictions are configured within each Class Template.

You can apply them when creating a new class or editing an existing one.

To add or edit Tag-Based Restrictions:

  1. Navigate to Menu → Setup → Schedule Items → Class Manager.

  2. Select the Class Group that contains the class you want to update.

  3. Click Edit on the specific class template.

  4. Scroll to the very bottom of the page to find the Tag-Based Restriction section.

You’ll see a field that looks like this:

Only allow clients with at least one of these tags to register (leave blank to allow all clients)
⊕ Add Tag

How to Configure Access

  • Leave blank – The class is open to all clients.

  • Add one or more tags – The class will be restricted to clients who have at least one of those tags.

As soon as you add a tag, the class becomes immediately locked to that tagged set of clients for all future registrations.

Important Notes

  • Adding no tags = open access to everyone.

  • Once one tag is added, only clients with that tag (or additional listed tags) can register.

  • Make sure to include all tags that should have access.

Example

If your studio uses level-based tags (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, etc.) and you want Level 5 clients to still join beginner classes, you’ll need to include all tags from Level 1 through Level 5 on that class template.

This ensures higher-level clients retain access to lower-level classes while still maintaining appropriate restrictions for others.
