If a Client wants to pay for someone else, there are several ways to handle it from the Admin Website depending on what they're trying to do — a standalone item purchase from the Sales Cart, a session-specific payment from the check-in screen, or using a Guest Pass the paying Client already holds.
Before you start, make sure Social Purchases are enabled: go to Setup > App Settings > Payment Settings and turn on Allow purchasing items for others (and Allow purchasing account balance for others if you also want to allow that).
Option 1: Standalone purchase from the Sales Cart
Use this when one Client wants to buy an item for another Client, and the purchase is not tied to a specific Class registration.
Click the menu icon in the top left corner of the Admin Website.
Click the Cart icon.
Search for the Client who is paying for the item.
Select the item being purchased.
Click the three dots to the right of the item and choose Purchase for Someone Else.
A new field appears showing the buyer is buying this for someone — search for and select the recipient Client.
Choose a payment method and process the order.
The receipt goes to the buyer's account; the item goes onto the recipient's account.
Option 2: From the check-in screen during a registration
Use this when a Client is registering for a Class and someone else is going to pay — either by buying them a single drop-in or by buying them a pack to use.
From the Live Schedule, open the Class, Event, or Series.
Click View Details to open the roster.
Register the Client if they're not already registered.
Click the dollar sign next to the Client's name to open the payment modal.
At the top of the modal, click Change who is paying.
Search for and select the Client who is paying.
Choose what to do — pay for the registration directly, purchase an item (such as a Class Pack), or use one of the payer's Guest Passes (see Option 3 below).
Select a payment method and complete the sale.
The receipt goes to the paying Client; the registration is credited to the registered Client.
Option 3: Using someone's Guest Pass to pay for a registration
If a Client holds an active Guest Perk on a pack, Intro Offer, or Membership, you can send a Guest Pass directly into the registration flow to cover another Client's registration. This is the fastest way to cover a Class for a friend when the paying Client has a Guest Perk available.
On the check-in screen, register the Client (the guest) for the Class.
Click the dollar sign next to their name to open the payment modal.
Click Use someone's guest pass at the top.
Search for and select the Client whose Guest Perk you want to use.
Confirm and send the Guest Pass.
Sending the Guest Pass deducts one use from the source Client's Guest Perk, places the Guest Pass on the registered Client's account, and applies it to the registration. The paid icon on the check-in screen will show as two purple people, the Guest Pass icon.
Things to know
Memberships cannot be gifted or purchased on behalf of another Client because they involve recurring billing. If a Client wants to give the gift of a Membership, sell them a digital Gift Card instead.
If you cancel and refund a Class that was paid with a Guest Pass, the use is returned to the Guest Pass on the registered Client's account — not back to the original sender.
You cannot purchase a standalone Guest Pass on the Admin Website. Guest Passes are always sent from a Guest Perk that's already on a pack, Intro Offer, or Membership.
