How to Create a Promo Code Discount

What is a Promo Code Discount?
A promo code discount is a discount applied to an account at the checkout during a point of sale. This is done via a promotional code either applied by the client or the admin prior to purchase. These codes can either apply to everyone, or apply only to clients with specified tags.

Step-by-Step
  1. From your dashboard, click the menu icon in the top left corner next to the fitDEGREE logo
  2. Within the menu options, select “Setup” and click on the drop down for “Discounts”
  3. Select Promo Code
  4. Click the plus sign in the top left hand corner
  5. Upon clicking the plus sign a tab titled “Create Discount” will appear on your screen. Fill in all required fields such as: title, discount tag (applied by clicking the plus sign), and amount of either percentage or dollars off
  6. Indicate whether this promo code applies to all clients, or clients with a specific tag (client tag and discount tag are not the same thing) in their accounts
  7. Input your discount start date, and indicate whether or not it will also have an end date
  8. Select whether or not your discount will be capped at a set amount, then click the “next” button in the bottom right corner of the tab
  9. Within the next tab, select what items the discount applies to (if an item has a plus sign to the left it is an item with multiple options, click this plus sign to reveal all options and decide whether or not they apply to your discount)
  10. Once you have finished, click the  “create” button in the bottom right corner of the tab

Things to Note:
  • When creating your promo code it can automatically apply to all members, or it can be applied only to members with specific tags on their accounts. Ensure that you check the proper option on the first tab while creating your discount and your discount tag aligns with the tag you will place into client profiles.
  • the name you give your code is what clients will have to enter at checkout to get the discount. Recommendation is to not make this code overly complicated for customers to redeem. 
  • When creating a promo code you can make it a single use code. By checking off "Can only be used once per customer" each client will have the opportunity to redeem the promo code only once.
