How Tags can be Leveraged for Announcements

Modified on Tue, 19 Sep, 2023 at 10:26 AM

Tags and Announcements go hand-in-hand! In this article we will be reviewing how to leverage your Tags inside of your Announcement Board.

Before we get started lets back track and address that your Announcement Board is like your internal social media feed in fitDEGREE. Here you can post pictures and videos, promote events, and in general communicate at large-scale with your clients.

Now, with the use of Tags, you can ensure that a specific group does (or does not) see a specific announcement or set of announcements as you continue posting!

To create an announcement you will enter the menu area of the fitDEGREE Admin, then select Announce, and then + Create an Announcement. From there, you will follow the standard protocol of adding a title and text. You can also add an image or video but this is optional (highly recommended).

From there you will move on to the Next Step and address how your Announcement will become visible to your Clients. See the image below for reference.

As you can see, with the use of Tags you can leverage your Announcement Board as a form of mass communication to a select group of Tagged Clients. Once you click on the option to require at least 1 of the following Tags, a new section will appear that leads to a new tab on screen once "Add Tag" is selected.

Within this new tab you will select the Tag which you wish the Announcement to be displayed to via the app. You can select multiple Tags per Announcement, just be sure to click the "Add Tag" button again to open the tab any additional times necessary.

After the Announcement is posted you can review which Tags are associated with it via the Tag icon underneath your fitSpot Title.

When clicked, this icon will pop open a new tab for you to be able to adjust your tag settings.

Note that if you have not sent a push notification, this tag area will allow you to do so!

You can also get to this screen by clicking the 3 dots to the right of the Announcement, then Edit, and going through the full edit flow for the Announcement.
