How to Create/Edit Retail Tax

Retail taxes can be applied to your items in two different ways. One, they can be applied as a default tax based on the Category you have assigned to the item. Two, they can be custom applied based on the particular item. Follow the instructions below to learn how to create or adjust your taxes for your retail items.

Step-by-Step

From your dashboard click the menu button in the top left hand corner
Within the menu tab click the “Setup” icon
Click into the “Payment Options” section and then click on “Retail”
Once in the retail page there are two different methods of editing the tax of a retail item
1. Create a Default Tax
  1. Click the "Gear Icon" button to open “Retail Item Categories” in the top left hand corner
  2. Find or create the tag with a default tax
    1. To edit default tax on and click the three dots on the right hand side
    2. Click edit
    3. Adjust your tax accordingly within the tag and click the “Update” button
2. Create a Custom Tax
  1. Click the three dots on the right hand side of the retail item you wish to adjust the tax on
  2. Click edit
  3. uncheck the Default Tax box
  4. Adjust your tax accordingly within the tag and click the “Update” button
